CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Laramie County Clerk’s office says it’s been busy ahead of the 2020 elections. The County Clerk says time is ticking to cast your absentee ballots.
Laramie County Clerk Debra Lee said, “67% of voters (more than 9,000) have returned their absentee ballots. So far to date, Laramie County has mailed nearly 14,000 absentee ballots to voters who have requested them. Going by the numbers, 39% of all registered voters--have already cast their General Election ballots as of Friday, Oct. 16.”
Preparations are underway with a great deal of attention on social distancing for voters. “I’ve heard a lot of people say they like the convenience of being able to vote at home. That way they can put the ballot on the table and they can have their newspaper out there and the candidate literature, and they can really think about their choices.”
In order to be counted, ballots must be received by the Clerk’s office no later than 7:00 p.m. on Nov. 3.
