CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Oct. 15 is the last day to fill out the 2020 Census. A representative said these numbers help get the state important federal funds.

Coralys Ruiz, a Census spokeswoman, said a couple of benefits are improved highways and free and reduced lunch programs in the schools.

She adds the numbers will determine representation in congress and how many seats Wyoming gets.

Wyoming is 99.9 percent counted four but they want to include everyone from newborn babies to residents that are 100 years old.

“This means better communities for us for the next 10 years. If we don’t get this right this year we might have to wait 10 years to get right and we don’t want to do that,” Ruiz said.
