Perfect playhouse for Riverton girl-Make a Wish and Skid structures partner again
RIVERTON, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) -
The Make a Wish foundation granted a four-year-old’s wish on Friday in Riverton. Skid Structures and the Make a Wish foundation partnered again, and now a little purple playhouse is occupied by one happy little girl named Amillia in Fremont County.
Shane Dickinson, owner of Skid Structures stated, “It’s a great feeling, I’m very happy. I hope she gets many years of use out of it. It’s nice to meet her family and see their reaction when we pulled up here, so it’s great."
The structure took two weeks to build and it was easy for the receiving family to decide which playhouse to choose, because they wanted it to be just like the previous playhouse Shane built with Make a Wish, but this time in purple.
Amillia’s mom, Jasmine Hood mentioned, “She wanted a piano and a bunch of music stuff, she wanted a music room. The playhouse was an idea too, so one of the make a wish ladies suggested maybe combining the playhouse and the music together, because they’d give her a $500 limit to spend on whatever she wanted in there.”
They settled on the playhouse and music room combination, and Millie has been anxiously awaiting, and she has two words to emphasize her feelings. “So excited,” Amillia said, or Millie as her family calls her.
Millie enjoyed giving her whole family a tour of her new playhouse, insisting everyone come inside to check it out.
“Can you tell everybody what you got to put in your playhouse?" asked Jasmine. “The Stuff,” Millie noted. Jasmine asked, “What’d you get, did you get a piano, are you going to play the piano all the time?” Millie answered. "Yeah!”
Jasmine said she’s very thankful to Make a Wish and Shane for helping Millie get exactly what she wanted.
Most of the family were wearing 'Mighty Millie’ shirts to celebrate the young girl beating cancer. Her mom asked, “What’d you do to cancer, did you beat its butt?” "Mmhmm,” said Millie. Skid Structures will soon be working on another playhouse with Make a Wish, this time for a child in Sheridan.
