CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - “This Minute Matters” is a new campaign Cheyenne Regional Medical Center has launched for suicide prevention awareness.

“Suicide prevention in Wyoming I think is something we should all focus on every day. It’s very prevalent in our community and we want to make sure that we’re reaching out to those around us so they know that there are resources out, we are here to help them and keep them safe,” said CRMC community prevention project director, Brittany Wardle.

Wardle said they want the community to be extra mindful of the warning signs that someone needs help. The pandemic has added more risk factors including anxiety and stress.

She said they also want those who are worried about themselves or others, to have access to the resources CRMC has to offer.

“There’s a myth that asking people about suicide makes them think about suicide and that is absolutely not true. So if you have concerns about someone be open, be direct,” said Wardle.
