CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Casper Police Officers and Natrona Sheriff’s Office Deputies drove down a street decorated in blue lights to honor them and other community first responders.

This work was done by a Facebook group called Thank a First Responder - Natrona County. They have photos of them giving baskets of goodies to show their appreciation. This parade represented community support to all first responders.

“It’s first responders in the medical field. My wife is a nurse and I work with a general contractor that’s a firefighter. I have lots of friends at CPD and NCSO. I want to support all of them. Even the military folks,” said Mitch Frickel, an admin of the Thank a Natrona County First Responder Facebook page.

These lights could mean them supporting first responders because of all of the national conversations about defunding police agencies. Frickel said this isn’t the case.

“We support police and fire and first responders. It’s not meant to be a political statement,” Frickel said.

He adds he hopes to get more blue lights on more Casper streets. If community members would like one to ask for one in the group.
