Central’s Andrew Johnson commits to University of Wyoming for football

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Central senior wide receiver and defensive back, Andrew Johnson, announced today that he committed to the University of Wyoming to continue his football career.

“It’s really a dream come true, I’ve told a lot of people that and I’ve always wanted to be a cowboy now that I finally have the opportunity to do that it’s amazing,” Johnson said.

Before the start of the 2020 high school football season, Johnson was named to the sports illustrated All-American watch list and was named a top 25 player in Wyoming. In 2019, he earned 4A all-state selection honors for receiver and defensive back.

Johnson says he’s being recruited as a safety and is excited to play primarily on the defensive side of the ball, knowing the history of the safeties to come from the program.
