West Side Brownfield Project Wrap Up Events Announced
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (PRESS RELEASE) - The City of Laramie invites the public to join a series of activities concerning its Brownfield Assessment Grant from the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) through which a total of seven environmental-assessments (four Phase I & three Phase II reports) on 40 acres of privately-owned land to identify any potential barriers to development. As we near the end of this EPA-funded initiative, the City of Laramie would like to share this process’s results with the public.
An in-person Wrap Up Party will be held on October 14, 2020 from 5:30 –6:30 pm at the Lincoln Community Center. Shawn Hess and Cousin Flamingo will provide entertainment, and the Laramie Public Art Coalition will provide activities. Food trucks will also be present to offer dinner and snacks, while City Staff and Consultants with Ayers and Associates will be on-site to answer any questions the public has about the project. Social distancing and masking are required. Complimentary masks will be provided.A virtual event is scheduled for October 19, 2020, from noon to 1:00.
The virtual event will be recorded and available on the City of Laramie’s website.
Additionally, presentations will be made to both the Planning Commission and City Council. Planning Commission will hear the presentation at their October 26, 2020 meeting, starting at 4:30 pm and City Council will hear this presentation on October 27, 2020, beginning at 6:00 pm.
