FCSD#25 food program offering free to-go breakfast and lunch for all children
RIVERTON, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) -
Free breakfast and lunch are available in Riverton for any child aged one to 18. You do not have to have a child enrolled in school to receive the free meals, and you simply need to visit the career center on College View Drive between 10-11 a.m. or from 1-2 p.m.
Let the kitchen staff know you’re there by ringing the doorbell on the kitchen’s back door, with the letters “CM” on the door to identify it. A to-go breakfast and lunch will be brought to you per child you request for.
This free service is offered from Monday through Friday, and is available to all community members.
When asked how she felt being able to provide this service, Jane Stanfield, nutrition director for FCSD#25 emphasized, “It makes me feel awesome because I’ve been doing this now for almost 30 years. That’s what I’m in this business for, to feed the kiddos. It empowers you, it’s very rewarding, not only for myself, but for my staff because we are certainly a team. I could not do that without them.”
As of now, the program will continue through December. People are still encouraged to apply for free and reduced meals on the school website, fremont25.org, as the program may not continue into next year.
