CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - With on of the biggest high school football rivalry games in the state of Wyoming in the Capital City Bowl on the horizon between Cheyenne Central and Cheyenne East, the battle of a pair of Wyoming News Now anchors has begun! The pride of Cheyenne Central in Kerri Hayden, verses Aaron Brown a Cheyenne East High School alumni.

Kerri Hayden, a Central grad, and lifelong member of the tribe, always representing her squad. It runs in her blood, as she has children who attend Central High School, with one of them being on the football team.

“It’s time to pluck the duck, Central has always dominated in the capital bowl, in fact we won the first series back in 1960 and I think we lead the all-time series as well,” Hayden said.

The Indians lead the all-time series, 43-27. However, it does not stop the East grad, Aaron Brown, from having hope, as the T-birds won 10 of the last 11, with their most recent win coming in 2019 by a score of 24-21.

“Well the most important part of that is that I think they’re going to win, so therefore, they will win,” Brown said.

In the end, there can only be one winner. Who will have the last laugh? Will it be Kerri Hayden representing Cheyenne Central? Or will it be Aaron Brown representing the T-birds? Kickoff is set for Friday, October 9, at 6:00pm on Riske Field.
