CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - After months of making calls, Lynn Burgess got to see his mother on her birthday. They got a spaced-out party to celebrate her turning 101.

Two of Burgess' sons and a daughter-in-law came with gifts and cupcakes.  Lynn said he feels grateful he got to see his mom today even though it isn’t exactly how he wanted to celebrate.

He adds that Shepherd of the Valley suggested they see her through a closed window, but he didn’t want to do that because of her health.

“I love my mom to death. I never thought she’d make 101, but she did. Maybe we’ll be back for 102,” Burgess said.

He adds he’s grateful the staff allowed them to be there.
