CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - The Self Help Center is hosting an annual event at the Tate Pumphouse Sunday, Oct. 4 to honor lives lost from domestic violence.

Jennifer Dyer, the executive director, said there will be a few speakers and people reading names of the lives lost.

Dyer adds this event isn’t to mourn lives lost, but to empower the community to stop the violence.

“Unfortunately, this year we had to add five names to the list. That’s a lot more than we’ve ever seen so it’s been difficult for our community,” Dyer said.

There will be a light dinner and the event goes from six p.m. to eight p.m.
