New Casper KOA owners see successful summer
CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - The new owners of the Casper KOA campground got much more success than they were expecting. A co-owner said they give the pandemic credit for what they saw.
Gregory Christoffel, a co-owner, bought the campground at the beginning of June and run it with his wife. Bringing it back to life is a common goal.
“It was under the prior ownership for 14 years so it’s a younger crew of people running the business now,” Christoffel said.
He adds the intense labor of running the site was unexpected. As well as filling up the site completely with RVs for most of June, July and August.
People buying RVs were inspired by the pandemic and Christoffel credits it to all of their success. Also, managing state restrictions to reduce the spread of COVID-19 was manageable.
“We are cleaning the bathrooms very hard and we try to keep it extremely clean. We’ve got an indoor pool here and we are running higher chlorine levels just to keep everybody safe,” Christoffel said.
He adds they came from Wisconsin to run this business and think they will see success next year too.
“The positive impact on our business this year looks like it’s going to be that way in the future also,” Christoffel said.
They are closing the campground for the winter on Nov. 1.
