CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - The spread of COVID-19 is increasing throughout Wyoming and the United States. The Casper-Natrona County Health Department wants to remind everyone that masks can help stop the spread.

Hailey Bloom, the CNCHD public information officer, said masks need to be fitted to the face.

“Obviously not too tight but enough so there isn’t a gap where droplets could get out,” Bloom said.

Tami Dixson, the designer of Breathe Happy Face Masks, sells her masks at a kiosk at Eastridge Mall

said she’s noticed a lot of shoppers not wearing masks or wearing them incorrectly.

She is trying to help inform the community on why they should wear them properly.

“The reason to wear a facemask is not to protect you but to protect others,” Dixon said.

She adds she has cystic fibrosis which weakens her immune system and doesn’t want people in similar situations to get the virus.

“I’m susceptible to anything that’s floating in the air,” Dixon said.
