CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - A group of Natrona County community members braved the wind to run The Thin Blue Line 5K race. This race was a fundraiser for the Heroes Fund.

Cody Blake, the Windy City Striders Vice President, said runners started at the Hall of Justice, went down B street to the Platte River Trail then turned around at the Memorial Wall.

Nathaniel Yeaden, a runner, said the wind made it a challenge to complete the route.

Blake adds the Windy City Striders don’t host many races in the summer and this race is a good way to start their season.

“Sometimes we are asked by other agencies to help with their races because there’s so many throughout the year,” Blake said.

He adds they are grateful to help the Casper Police Department organize this race and have a relationship with people helping community members every day.
