CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Multiple homes in the Poplar and Granada area are evacuated because of a gas leak. Around 5:30 p.m. a post on the Casper Fire-EMS Facebook page said evacuations are lifted but there are some crews in the area.

Capt. Patrick McJunkin said a Black Hills Energy Customer called to report Carbon Monoxide in the home and gas was found instead. . He said a worrisome amount of gas was found in homes instead and Casper Fire-EMS crews are helping get rid of it.

McJunkin said he doesn’t know when the evacuations will be lifted but hopes the incident comes to a safe conclusion.

“We certainly appreciate everybody and the inconvenience it has caused to the neighborhood,” McJunkin said.
