Drive-Thru Flu Vaccine and COVID Testing Event
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (PRESS RELEASE) - The Cheyenne-Laramie County Health Department will be providing flu immunizations October 1st from 7am to 6pm at Cheyenne Frontier Park, Gate V10 off of Carey Ave. This will be done in the form of a Drive-Thru clinic. Participants are asked to wear a face covering during the immunization. The immunization clinic will be providing a vaccine for the seasonal flu only; this is not a vaccine for Covid-19. Private insurance will be accepted. For those not insured, the cost will be $20, payable by cash, check, or credit/debit card. The clinic is open to any Laramie County resident or individuals working in Laramie County.
“This year immunizations are more important than ever to maintain a healthy immune system”, stated Dr. Stan Hartman Laramie County Health Officer. He continued, “We are encouraging individuals to get immunizations early this year due to the similarities of symptoms between the flu and Covid-19”.
“Flu vaccines are especially important for vulnerable populations including: young children, pregnant women, people with chronic health conditions, and those 65 years and older. Healthcare workers and people who care for high risk individuals, as well as infants 6 months of age and under, should also be vaccinated”, said Dr. Alexia Harrist, State Health Officer.
The Cheyenne-Laramie County Health Department will also be providing free Covid-19 tests for anyone that is interested. Individuals can choose to receive only a flu vaccine, a Covid-19 test, or both.
