CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - It was a special day for veterans across the state of Wyoming as the Disabled American Veterans donated two vehicles to the Cheyenne VA Medical Center.

“It means that we can get more veterans to their medical appointments, to and from, if they need rides, we provide them,” said Wyoming DAV director of transportation, Floyd Watson.

The vehicles focus will be transporting veterans to their medical appointments. That will be locally or as far north as Casper and Sheridan. For the Cheyenne VA, its been seeing a lot of its veterans through telehealth, but the vehicles make it easier to see them when necessary.

“We’ve missed our veterans and what this allows our veterans to do is come and get their appointment, and be seen,” said Cheyenne VA public affairs officer, Sam House.

The DAV and Cheyenne VA are also looking for volunteer drivers for the vehicles and if you are interested you can call the DAV at (307)-778-7577.
