Cheyenne VA providing flu shots for veterans at no cost

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - The Cheyenne VA is offering flu shots to veterans, employees and volunteers for free. From now until Nov. 30. from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., you can call (307)-778-7550 ext. 4312 to schedule an appointment for your free flu shot.

There will also be drive-up clinics where an appointment won’t be necessary Tuesday Sep. 29 and Thursday Oct. 8 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and a drive-thru clinic Oct. 3 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

For one Cheyenne VA nurse, she said with everything going on, it’s even more important to get your flu shot this year.

“With everything going on right now, we think it’s extra important to get your flu shot this year. Get it early, that’s a new CDC recommendation, get it early and try and ward off any kind of illness, and help protect yourself not only from the flu but from coronavirus," said Cheyenne VA employee health nurse, Vicki Woods.

The Cheyenne VA also has availability for Northern Colorado locations:

Loveland Clinic: drive-thru clinic Oct. 10 and Oct. 24 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Fort Collins Clinic: drive-thru clinic Oct. 17 8 a.m. 12 p.m.
