Thin Blue Line 5k Saturday in Casper
CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Casper Windy City Striders is raising money for first responders Saturday during its “Thin Blue Line 5K.”
It will support the Natrona County Heroes Fund, which helps local first responders who fall on hard times.
“We’ve always thought that it’s important for us to recognize first responders in Natrona County, especially the police department. There are a lot of people who work as first responders who don’t get a lot of recognition for the type of work they do,” Casper Windy City Striders Vice President Cody Blake said.
Registration for the event costs $25. People can register in-person or in advance on the Casper Windy City Striders' website or Facebook page. Casper Windy City Striders members can register for $20. First responders run for free.
The event begins at 9 a.m. in front of the Hall of Justice at 201. N. David Street in Casper. In-person registration begins at 8 a.m.
Blake said the event is fun because it brings the community together and creates camaraderie amongst first responders and the people they serve.
