CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Early voting kicked off election season last Friday and on Tuesday, Laramie County celebrated National Voter Registration Day.

“We are committed to having all those who are eligible to register and vote, to do so. This is a very important election and its engaged many people, and the only way to have your voice heard is to get out and register, and vote,” said Laramie County Clerk, Debra Lee.

Lee was joined at the County Governmental Complex by the Cheyenne League of Women Voters to encourage people to register and vote. Tuesday wasn’t just about voter registration, but celebrating our state’s and our nation’s history of women’s suffrage.

“Voting affects what happens locally, statewide and nationally, so it’s really crucial that everyone get out and vote,” said League of Women Voters member, Keren Meister-Emerich.

Lee also wanted to remind residents that early voting is open in the atrium at the Laramie County Governmental Complex and will end Nov. 2.
