Jam Sessions reignite at Holiday Inn Riverton
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) -
The Riverton Holiday Inn has started its Wednesday jam sessions up again, and has just reopened its lounge and bar area for customers to enjoy while they listen.
“Obviously we missed having the jammers here on Wednesdays, but it seems as if things are in a better place now. We really feel comfortable with having anybody from the public in. We do have a mask rule in the hotel, but in open spaces, it’s kind of up to your discretion during the jam,” mentioned Holiday Inn Riverton Sales Manager, Devin King.
The acoustic jam session is every Wednesday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Singers, musicians, and anyone who simply loves music is welcome to enjoy the tunes. The sessions first started in February, but had to be shut down shortly after due to restrictions.
Darryl Symanski, a Fremont County guitar player is the main coordinator for all the jams. He approached Holiday Inn to start the sessions as a consistent space to play his music with other locals. Symanski “welcomes everybody that sings or plays an instrument to bring an acoustic instrument and have a good time,” noted King.
King also enjoys strumming a few notes in his spare time. “I try to as much as I can, I’m a busy guy, but I try to pop in here and at least make sure everyone’s having a good time and occasionally bring a guitar,” stated King.
Attendees and musicians can grab a bite at the restaurant QT’s or a drink in the Bottoms Up lounge to enjoy while they play or listen.
