Natrona County Emergency Management to test sirens Friday
CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Natrona County Emergency Management will run its annual emergency sirens broadcast test Friday between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Officials will set off each of the county’s 36 sirens. They will set them off about every five minutes. Each siren will run for about three minutes.
Though this is the only test the public can hear, the sirens are actually tested quite often.
“We do a silent test on all the outdoor sirens every Monday morning. So we can hear it here in the office through our equipment but it’s not broadcasted over the sirens for the public,” Natrona County Emergency Management Coordinator Stacia Hill said.
Hill said people who are concerned about the sirens should call the Emergency Management office at (307) 235-9205, not 911.
