Pokes in the Pros: Josh Allen and Andrew Wingard help their teams to week one wins in the NFL
Former Wyoming Cowboy, Josh Allen becomes the first Bills QB to pass for 300+ yards in a game since Tyrod Taylor in 2016, leading Buffalo to a 27-17 win over the Jets. Former Wyoming Cowboy and current Jacksonville Jaguars safety, Andrew Wingard, gets first career interception in a 27-20 win against the Indianapolis Colts.
BUFFALO, Ny. (Wyoming News Now) - Former Poke, Josh Allen becomes the first Bills QB to pass for 300+ yards in a game since Tyrod Taylor in 2016, leading Buffalo to a 27-17 win over the New York Jets. Allen was responsible for all three touchdowns for the Bills, scoring the first one with a two-yard run in the first quarter. His first touchdown pass of the season also came in the opening quarter as Allen connected with Zack Moss on a four-yard TD pass to go up, 14-0. In the second quarter, he connected with veteran receiver, John Brown, for a 17-yard touchdown pass.
Allen finished the day 33-46, 312 yards, 2 TD, 14 rushes, 57 yards, TD, QBR-104.6. Buffalo’s next game will be against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, September 20, at 11:00am MST.
Former Wyoming and current Jacksonville Jaguars safety, Andrew Wingard, got his first NFL career interception late in the fourth quarter against the Indianapolis Colts, helping them to a 27-20 win. With just over 4:30 left in the fourth quarter, Jacksonville was up 24-20 with the Colts in possession on their own 31 yard line. Former longtime Chargers and current Colts quarterback, Philip Rivers, dropped back for a pass to Colts receiver, Parris Campbell, only for it to be intercepted by Wingard, who would run it back near Indianapolis' 30 yard line.
Jacksonville’s next game will be on the road against the Tennessee Titans on SUnday, September 20, at 11:00am MST.
