Trio charged with Aggravated Burglary
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (PRESS RELEASE) - On Sunday, September 6, 2020 shortly after 5:30pm, Officers with the Laramie Police Department were dispatched to the area of the 1500 block of Hackney Drive for the report of the 3 people dressed in black with long guns in the alley. Shortly thereafter, a disturbance was reported in the 1500 block of Hackney Dr.
Upon investigation of responding officers, three Laramie area residents were taken into custody regarding the incident. 19 year-old Christopher Zepeda and 20-year-old Maria Garcia were charged with Aggravated Burglary. 23-year-old Mario Morones was charged with Aggravated Burglary and Aggravated Assault. The Police Department received assistance from Albany County Sheriff’s Deputies, Wyoming Highway Patrol and University of Wyoming Police.
All arrestees are being held at the Albany County Detention Center. Ms. Garcia and Mr. Corona are being held on $25,000 bond. Mr. Morones is being held on $30,000 bond.
Aggravated Assault (WSS 6-2-502) is a felony punishable by imprisonment for not more than ten (10) years. Aggravated Burglary (WSS 6-3-301C) is a felony punishable by imprisonment for not less than five (5) years nor more than twenty-five (25) years, a fine of not more than fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00), or both.
At this time, these charges are merely accusations and the Defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
