CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - David Street Station celebrated Hispanic culture Saturday during its third annual Fiesta WYO event.

The event included dances, food and other attractions.

“I think it just showcases what the Hispanic culture does,” David Street Station Operations Manager Jackie Landess said.

One of those performers, the Cheyenne-based dance group, Las Angelitas Unidas y Los Rayos del Sol, performed dances from multiple Mexican states.

“We just really wanted to show the diversity in Wyoming and represent our culture and teach others our culture as well,” said Kaitlynne Chacon, one of the group’s directors.

At the end of the group’s performance, they invited the crowd to join in and dance with them.

“It’s one of my favorite parts, having the audience come up and dance with us. I really enjoy seeing their smiling faces and bringing joy to their day,” Chacon said.

She said it’s an honor when audience members want to dance with the group.

While this is David Street Station’s final summer event, Landess said it has even more meaning because it shows something different.

“This is one of my favorite events that we do all summer and I think it’s just because of the cultural showcasing of the Hispanic culture,” she said.
