CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Two Casper businesses hosted a free community bar-b-q Saturday at Washington Park. Lickety-Split Delivery and Mouthful restaurant wanted to thank the community for its continued support.

The event included free food, games and face painting.

“We’ve come together to give the community a place to gather and kind of just let loose,” Mouthful owner Tyler Wood said.

“We were kind of thinking we needed to have something to bring the community back out together to cap off the summer and kind of head into the new school year,” Lickety-Split Delivery owner Kevin Dietz said.

Since COVID-19 increased Lickety-Split’s business, Dietz said it’s only right for him to share some of those increased profits with his community.

“We had the opportunity to take some of that community and put it into giving back,” he said.

Wood said it’s also nice to bring some normalcy back after this abnormal summer.

“It’s a little bit of relief. Like there’s still normalcy to everyday life that people can still come together and do things that we’re accustomed to from the past,” he said.

In addition to spending their own money, Dietz and Wood got help from sponsors to put on the event. All excess proceeds were donated to the Wyoming Food for Thought Project.
