Friday Night Frenzy: High School football, Week 1
All three Cheyenne schools had home games.
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Two Wyoming high school football programs got some news that took their Friday plans by storm when the State Health Department announced that the innerclass varsity game between Newcastle and Buffalo to be canceled over due to COVID-19 concerns.
Last week, Newcastle played the Hot Spring, South Dakota football team, where it was announced that one of the players from South Dakota tested positive for the virus earlier on Tuesday, August 31. Newcastle went through testing protocols, where there were no reported positive COVID-19 cases on their football team.
Football still occurred in the cowboy state, as the game of the week was between No. 2 Central and Kelly Walsh.
