Funds for Wyoming Heroes in a crisis goes statewide
CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Funding for Wyoming first responders in a crisis is now available statewide. A golf tournament was held at Paradise Valley Country Club to raise these funds.
Golfers showed off their skills by golfing with axes and wore bulletproof vests as part of the fundraiser.
“We have funds available to help them get through this time of need and crisis and also get their family through it,” said Det. Tiffany Elhart from the Casper Police Department.
They expanded the funds to everyone throughout the state so people who work for fire, police or Game and Fish can have it if they are in need.
“Our local Fraternal Order of Police Lodge number six is our Casper Police Department Lodge. We are managing the funds which mean we are just a phone call away,” Elhart said.
This money is to help first responders and their families if a crisis happens while they are on the job.
“It’s too often you hear about your brothers and sisters from across the counties and know they need help. We figured we needed to expand this,” Elhart said.
