August Finishes on a Cooler Note
August 31st, 2020
Over the weekend things heated back up from a cool down last Friday, only to have even cooler conditions to start off the new work week. A cold front passed through yesterday, and it will cut high temperatures today for many locations by 15+ degrees. Clouds are expected to blanket the Cowboy State as we get into the evening hours, with a chances for some scattered showers and thunderstorms this afternoon and evening. Severe weather is not expected with the cooler conditions, however the southeastern part of the state will likely see breezy conditions coming from the south. The rain likely won’t be enough to really help with any drought conditions, and unfortunately this will likely also be the last chance for rain this week.
If anybody has outdoor plans, this is definitely the week to do it, so long as they don’t involve burning. Temperatures will be fluctuating between the mid 70s and mid 80s for most of the week before a late week warm-up will bring a handful of locations the 90s again as we head into next weekend. Sunny and clear skies are also expected every day this week once September starts, so the chance for rain is slim to none. Parts of the state could see breezy conditions on Wednesday, which will likely amplify a fire weather threat, but other than that this looks to be a very pleasant week ahead.
