Heat Wave this Weekend Snow Monday

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) -

As gusty winds take over the weather Fire Weather Warnings are in effect until Sunday at 8pm for the entire state when a cold front pushes through cooling off our temperatures and bring moisture into the state. Burning of any kind is highly discourage due to low humidity levels, gusty, and dry conditions.

Overnight Cheyenne will hit a low of 52 degrees with mostly clear skies. Casper will hit a low of 54 degrees with mostly clear skies with breezy conditions.

For your Labor Day Weekend it will be a roller coaster throughout the weekend. It’s going to be hot on Saturday with temperatures in the 90s throughout the state with sunny skies. Cheyenne will top out with a high of 94 degrees and breezy conditions. Casper will hit 96 degrees with sunny skies and breezy conditions. Sunday temperatures Cheyenne will be hot again with a high of 91 degrees, and Casper will top out at 89 degrees.

By Monday a very powerful cold front will come through the state dropping temperatures throughout the day. This front will bring in a decent amount of moisture to the state bringing rain and snow, yes snow. The cold air and the moisture will need to come together in order to bring the state the first snow of the season; however, with the temperatures being so hot the ground is still very warm so most snow will melt on impact.
