City leaders ask community for help naming new park
CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - The east side of town will soon be home to Casper’s newest park. It will be located off of Venture Way and 2nd street.
The eight acre park will be left mostly in its natural state and one acre will be dedicated to a dog park. City leaders are hoping to get the community involved with the name of the park.
“It’s just a fun way for us to know what the citizens of Casper are thinking. What people they would like to honor, the history of our town that they would like to honor,” said Casper Parks and Rec community relations coordinator, Beth Andress.
Casper’s Park and Recreation Department encourages the names to be one to three words long, associated with natural features, natural resources or historic significance.
You can submit what you would like the park to be named on the City of Casper’s website here. You can also mail submissions to the Casper Parks Department at 1800 E K Street, Casper, WY 82601. Submissions will be taken until August 28th. The Parks and Rec naming committee will then select five finalists and city council will decide the final name.
