Cheyenne Sixers 18U to play Casper Oilers in first round of the Wyoming Class AA Legion baseball state tournament

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - The Wyoming Class AA Legion baseball state tournament is scheduled to begin on August 5, 2020 at the Paul J. Wataha Complex in Rock Springs, Wyoming. The Cheyenne Sixers are scheduled to play the Casper Oilers in the first round.

“We have to make sure were playing our best baseball and it’ll be interesting and a fun little contest with those guys. We count onto see what happens after that,” Sixers manager, Ty Lain said.

After ending their regular season with a 46-20 record and on a three-game winning streak, Post 6 enters the tournament as the second seed in the Eastern Region.

“If we dial in one pitch at a time I believe we’ll have a great chance of winning this tournament. We feel good about our club and what were capable of doing,” Lain said.

Wednesday (Aug. 5)

GM 1: 2E Cheyenne Post 6 vs. 3W Casper, 10am.

GM 2: 2W Jackson vs. 3E Sheridan, 1pm.

GM 3: 1W Evanston vs. 4E Laramie, 4pm.

GM 4: 1E Gillette vs. 4W Rock Springs, 7:30pm.

Thursday (Aug. 6)

-GM 1 loser vs. GM 3 loser, 10am., loser eliminated

-GM 2 loser vs. GM 4 loser, 1pm., loser eliminated

-GM 1 winner vs. GM 4 winner, 4 p.m.

-GM 2 winner vs. GM 4 winner, 7 p.m.

Friday (Aug. 7)

GM 9: GM 6 winner vs. GM 7 loser, 1pm., loser eliminated

GM 10: GM 5 winner vs. GM 8 loser, 4pm., loser eliminated

GM 11: GM 7 winner vs. GM 8 winner, 7pm.

Saturday (Aug. 8)

GM 12: GM 9 winner vs. GM 11 loser, 7pm., loser eliminated

GM 13: GM 10 winner vs. GM 11 winner, 4pm., loser eliminated if second loss.

Sunday (Aug. 8)

GM 14: GM12 winner vs. GM 13 winner (championship), 12pm.

If necessary: GM 14 winner vs. GM 14 loser, 3:30pm., (only if it’s the first loss from GM 14 loser).

Cheyenne and Casper will face each other on Wednesday, August 5, at 10:00am.
