Bar Nunn Fire Department raises money at annual car show
BAR NUNN, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Peter Buell loves showing off his 1963 Ford Econoline Cargo Van.
“People like the van because it reminds them of when they were kids,” he said.
Showing it off was exactly what Buell got to do Saturday at the third annual Bar Nunn Car Show.
“It’s a lot of fun,” he said.
The annual car show is a fundraiser for the Bar Nunn Fire Department.
“It’s really great to go through and see the support that we have because we’re one of the frew volunteer departments left in Natrona County,” Bar Nunn Fire Chief Robert Hoover said.
A car enthusiast himself, Hoover said seeing these cars brings him back to his childhood.
“It brings out the kids in you,” he said. “Going through and seeing cars the way they used to be built and how they’re built now and the performance that people have in them and the things that they can do with them is just unreal.”
He said the show means even more this year as people have been cooped up during the coronavirus pandemic.
“It’s really nice,” Hoover said.
He said about 150 cars entered this year’s show.
