Johnson surpasses Innis for most Post 6 triples in a season as Sixers finish regular season with a pair of wins

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Cheyenne Sixers 18U outfielder, Andrew Johnson, broke the single-season record for most triples by a Sixers player with 19, breaking the previous record of Braxton Innis, during Cheyenne’s 8-1 win against North Platte. He also recorded two hits and three RBI’s.

Post 6 had six runs in the sixth inning with hits from Johnson, Colter McAnelly, Zack Costopolus, Jackson Hesford, and Nico Vite. The Sixers recorded 12 total hits, with Johnson and McAnelly each having multiple hits.

Cheyenne went onto win their next game against the Westco Zephyers, 10-5. They recorded 13 hits as Vite went 4-5 at bat, scoring two runs and a RBI. Johnson recorded four RBI’s and multiple hits for the Sixers. Hesford and Kaden Anderson also had multiple hits.

The state tournament will take place in Rock Springs from Aug. 5-Aug. 9.
