F.E Warren Air Force Base talks about Hosting Heroes program, pandemic response and mental health resources

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Colonel Peter Bonetti sat down with Grace Foulk to talk about the Hosting Heroes program. The program was called “Adopt an Airman” originally. The program gives community members a chance to partner to host an Airmen. The program has over 70 airmen and around 40 host families. Colonel Bonetti said the military and the cowboy ethic really go together well.

The United States Air Force started trying to increase suicide prevention efforts. Colonel Bonetti said that he’s been happy with the base chaplains and really thankful for the work they have done connecting the base.

During a pandemic, Colonel Bonetti said his leadership philosophy is to overcommunicate with people. He said, “We have to make sure that every opinion matter. We have to get better at that as a community and certainly as a service.”
