Casper man organizing event for community to show support for law enforcement
CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Zac Horton had been thinking of a way he and his family could show their support for Natrona County’s law enforcement agencies. Horton then saw a large community gather in St. Louis showing their support for their local law enforcement.
“I saw in our world today the fact that officers aren’t appreciated like I believe they once were and should be. So I wanted to be able to instill that in my sons as they’re growing up, that appreciation, respect for our law enforcement,” said Horton.
Horton ended up reaching out to the “The 10-4 Project’s” event coordinator in St. Louis to see what he could do here. This Saturday starting at 10 a.m. the community will have the chance to come out and show their support for law enforcement.
Horton said he has been reaching out to as many local law enforcement agencies as he and his wife can. Horton also said it gives those who may not know how to show their support, a way to say thank you.
“I’m sure just being an officer and seeing the media coverage across the whole nation has gotta be difficult. So I wanted to make sure here that they for sure knew that there’s a lot of us that do appreciate them,” said Horton.
The 10-4 Project is looking for donations for the event on Saturday, you can find the event page here.
