CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Natrona County will have a new member of the Wyoming House of Representatives Thursday.

Natrona County Commissioners selected Republican Kevin O’Hearn Tuesday to fill the remainder of former Rep. Bunky Loucks’ House District 59 term. O’Hearn will be sworn-in Thursday in Cheyenne.

House District 59 is entirely within Natrona County, covering parts of Casper and Mills. Loucks, a five-term incumbent, resigned July 6 to focus on his business, Wyoming Office Products & Interiors

Natrona County Commissioners selected O’Hearn, the Town of Mills building inspector and business owner, over Leah Juarez and David Carpenter. They cited O’Hearn’s experience with municipal government as the primary reason they selected him.

O’Hearn’s term is set to expire in Jan. 2020. He faces Juarez and Carpenter in the Aug. 18 Republican primary.
