CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - After a long two years, Jon & Renee Jelinek owners of the ‘Lincoln Theatre’ have announced that the theatre will be open to the public, and hosting it’s first musical debut August 14th. Jon & Renee are proud downtown Cheyenne business owners and sought to giving back to the community by giving them something that Cheyenne needs.

A live music venue is the missing piece to downtown Cheyenne’s nightlife. Cheyenne is seen as being at the tipping point as a destination for visitors. Now, with the addition of the Lincoln Theatre hosting national and local live musical performances, will nudge the city over the hump it needs to attract more visitors and attract Cheyenne’s youth.

The Jelinek’s were given a grand opportunity to provide what has been missing in Cheyenne through their “Alternative Art’s Project” with the acquisition of the Lincoln Theatre, they now have the ability and the space that was made for live music performances.

Now, Jon & Renee see the light at the end of the tunnel, as they are just a couple weeks from hosting their debut performance in the theatre. With their dedication and commitment to the growth of downtown Cheyenne. Their mission to bring a vibrant place, full of activity and reasons to give the community as to why they love it here.

When asking Jon about the journey to bring this dream to life. He commented, “This is definitely the biggest project we have taken on.” He added, “We wanted this to be a project for Cheyenne. Cheyenne has given us a lot, and this is a great way to give something back to Cheyenne for years to come. There has definitely been challenges. It’s been really fun the entire way through. Sometimes things get a little frustrating but overall it’s been a really great journey and we’re really excited every step of the way. Now we are literally ready to open the doors... it’s a great feeling.”

Renee Jelinek also expressed how excited for all their hard work to have paid off. She said, “We’re just so happy to finally be here and be ready to do this.” Adding, “It’s been a little over two years in the making here.. from when we acquired the building and started this whole process of converting a full-time music venue.”

The Lincoln’s debut performance will be hosted Friday, August 14th @ 7 p.m. Another show Saturday, August 15th @ 7 p.m.

Tickets go on sale Friday July 31st. Due to Covid restrictions, tickets will need to be purchased in multiples of 2-6
