Natrona County YMCA offering no joining fee for July membership
CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Members of the Natrona County YMCA gather for a group class and to use the equipment spread out throughout the facility. Through the month of July, they’ve held a campaign all month where new members don’t have to pay a fee to join.
“We are just really trying to find a way to either welcome people back that may have canceled or people who currently don’t have a gym and are looking for one,” said Risa Phillips, senior membership director.
Phillips added they are taking a lot of precautions for existing members like social distancing reminders, hand sanitizer and spread out equipment.
“We were able to distance them even further apart than the governor recommends,” Phillips said.
They are holding a few group classes in the building and are also keeping some online.
“We wanted to continue offering that because some might not want to come back yet or aren’t ready to come back,” Phillips said.
She added she’s glad this campaign is bridging in some new faces despite the difficult times.
“It’s been nice to see some old faces coming back in or some new members we haven’t had before,” Phillips said.
