CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Dozens came out to enjoy a socially distanced comic con at the Casper Events Center. With many things being rescheduled or canceled completely everywhere, vendors and those attending, were just happy to be there.

“I’m from Colorado, I drove four hours to get here,” said Lexi Morales.

“It feels wonderful to get out of the house for once, and especially like this,” said Madison Robertson.

“I was very excited when everything was set and they didn’t cancel it last minute,” said Kaylee Geiger.

“This was something that people needed. They need a break from being quarantined and get to socialize with other people. I mean even if we’ve got our social distancing and space between stuff, you still get to interact and that’s the coolest thing that this brings, this brings Casper back together,” said Game Crossing Co-Owner, Zach Powell.

“Instead of being locked up and only getting out to go to Walmart or go out to eat every once in awhile, people can come out here to the con and kind of enjoy life again, try to start it back up, reboot it,” said Casper Comic Con Founder and Host, Clint Randolph.

Randolph said he was worried about the turnout at first, but he’s happy with what he’s seen.

“You get fearful, you don’t know if people are gonna wanna come out and do anything but it seems like everybody’s out, they’re wanting to come out and enjoy it,” said Randolph.

For one TV star, it’s been nice to be back at comic cons and his favorite part of being there, is hearing from his fans.

“The best fun I have with the fans is, it’s their opportunity to tell me how I impacted their lives, so it’s their opportunity to tell me their story,” said Sam J. Jones, also known as “Flash Gordon.”

Jones said his appearances in more recent movies has helped him connect with younger generations as well, which he loves.

If you missed out on comic con Saturday, you can still go Sunday. It begins at 10 a.m. and goes until 4 p.m., there will also be a kids costume contest at 3 p.m.
