The Heat is Making a Comeback
Weather Story July 15th, 2020
We’ve made it to the middle of the week and things are a bit cooler than how we started. That heat will be returning this weekend however, with the lower 90s making a comeback beginning tomorrow. Along with the warmer temperatures there will be plenty of sunshine, however most afternoons expect clouds to build in from the heat allowing for convection. There is also a chance for some spotty pop-up thunderstorms most afternoons as we head into the weekend. These will not be widespread however and the severe weather threat remains low, as no weather systems are anticipated to make their way into Wyoming over the next several days. Breezy conditions are expected before the weekend for much of the state due to a minor low pressure system that will impact Montana Thursday into Friday, mainly amplifying winds in the northeastern and central parts of Wyoming. This will enhance the fire weather threat, especially due to drought conditions that much of Wyoming is currently experiencing. Our next weather-maker looks to be a cold front that will move into the state late Saturday from the northwest and impact the eastern half of the state Sunday evening. This will bring a chance for more storms and potentially some severe weather Sunday afternoon/evening and will bring another slight cool-down to start the next week.
