CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - As Wyoming battles the coronavirus pandemic, fewer Natrona County residents want to be election judges for the Aug. 18 primaries.

Natrona County Clerk Tracy Good said about 150 people have signed up. She said the county needs about 200.

Good said she understands people’s fears of possibly getting COVID-19 but election judges will take safety precautions including wearing masks and consistently sanitizing voting booths and check-in areas. She also wants somes workers to act as a cleaning crew, primarily sanitizing check-in areas and voting booths.

“It’s a very tedious long day however it’s very satisfying in my mind and we need these election judges to help us conduct these elections,” Good said.

Election judges are paid.

Good said if her office can’t find enough election judges, it’ll make it work but not as efficiently.
