CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) -Community members near the Elk Horn Valley area woke up to a surprise when a mountain lion was spotted.

Janet Milek, a Wyoming Game and Fish public information specialist, said the mountain lion was found hiding under a bush.

She added when a biologist came near it, it ran off in the direction of its natural habitat and did not need to be relocated.

Also, this area is common for these animals to wander to.

“Elk Horn Valley is a natural corridor that has a lot of natural prey like deer, antelope and wild turkeys. We see those animals moving in and out of those corridors quite regularly,” Milek said.

Milek wants to remind everyone not to feed any wildlife.
